What are Perforated Sheets?

A perforated sheet is a metal sheet with a series of shapes or patterns cut out from it. They have several benefits over plain metal sheets. They are lighter in weight and provide good traction and passage of liquid through them. It is commonly used for the filtration process.

What are the criteria to choose a particular pattern?

There are three main attributes one needs to consider while choosing an appropriate patterned sheet: Open area, Hole size, and hole geometry.

The Open Area is an indication of how much metal is absent after the cutting process. It directly affects the weight of the sheet. It determines the amount of air or liquid that can pass through the sheet.

The Hole Size determines the size of particles that can pass through the sheet. The hole size manipulates the permeability of the metal sheet. The see-through ability of the sheet is also defined by the hole size.

Hole Geometry consists of three main types of sheets. One can choose from Round holes, square holes, and designer patterns, each geometric shape has a unique purpose.
