Cupro Nickel, also known as copper-nickel or cupronickel, is a metal alloy made with copper and nickel. CuNi 90/10 is extremely corrosion-resistant and has superior stamina in harsh environments like salt water. It can be used for creations ranging from coins to kitchen sinks because it maintains its appearance and doesn’t leach into food. Cupro Nickel alloys possess excellent mechanical properties, making them popular for engineering applications such as valves for ships engines and tanks that store corrosive liquids. Unlike pure copper, which corrodes easily if not properly treated, Cupro Nickel alloys are more tolerant of acidic environments since the nickel content makes them more durable than pure metals like copper or silver. This versatile material has excellent properties that make it a great choice for many different purposes. Copper Nickel is an alloy made from copper and nickel that ranges from 10 – 40% of nickel. 80/20 CuNi is extremely corrosion resistant, has excellent ductility and toughness, self-lubricating properties, and good strength at elevated temperatures. Additionally it can be found in a variety of shapes like sheet, foil, strip, plate, bar and tube for a wide range of uses including medical instruments, marine engineering applications as well as industrial components. Copper Nickel offers excellent wear resistance against burrs or scratches caused by abrasion or erosion.
