SS 446 Alloy combines molybdenum, chromium and iron, providing superior heat and corrosion resistance. SUS 446 Pipe withstands temperatures up to 1070°C, making it ideal for industrial and exhaust systems use. The high levels of chromium provide ASTM A268 TP446 Tube excellent resistance to oxidation and scaling, while the high levels of molybdenum help protect against pitting and crevice attacks in chloride-containing environments. AISI 446 Pipe robustness allows for its use in cold-drawn and welded forms, making it relatively economical compared to other grades. ASTM A268 TP446 Pipe unique properties allow it to be used within a wide range of applications, including fireplaces, heating elements, boilers, furnace components, manifolds etc, thus making it an essential component for many industries globally.
Stainless Steel 446 Tube is a type of steel alloy composed of iron, chromium (20-30%), nickel (1.5-2.5%) and other elements such as molybdenum, titanium, aluminium, cobalt and copper that is used for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and elevated temperatures. This type of DIN 1.4762 Tubes has outstanding creep strength at elevated temperatures up to approximately 1000°C (1800°F). It exhibits good formability even at high temperatures and can be welded using standard welding techniques. Another unique benefit is AISI 446 Tube superior oxidation resistance throughout its entire temperature range due to its higher chromium content which helps protect against scaling in harsh environments. The addition of molybdenum gives it improved pitting and stress corrosion cracking resistance over other stainless steels too.
