Inconel is an austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloy and has specific applications. Inconel has several characteristics like resistance to corrosion, resistance to oxidation and can withstand high temperatures and hence a perfect material for extreme environments. Due to solid solution strengthening or precipitation strengthening Inconel has high-temperature strength. This material is also resistant to pressure which makes it perfect for extreme applications.

Aerospace and jet engines

Nickel alloys are a natural alternative within the aerospace industry. Engine parts, especially, are exposed to high temperatures and high pressure.
